This image shows the exterior of the Mallinckrodt Center, specifically, where Edison Theatre and Bookstore are housed. Taken in 2003, it shows the ever-brutalist architecture which was first designed with the arts in mind. On the right is a part of the campus bookstore, which provides an essential; service for students. The bookstore is directly adjacent to the Edison Theatre, showing the range of Mallinckrodt's services, as well as its place in WashU culture.
